Welcome to the Union Valley Church of Christ

We're glad you're here!

Union Valley Elders

Bob Howard

Bob Howard is our newest elder. He came to us from Kremmling, Colorado after growing up in Wisconsin.

He has been at Union Valley for about two years in semi-retirement.

He is married to Susan Howard, and together they have have four children that have been baptized into Christ, along with 11 grandchildren. Bob has done evangelism in Ghana, and teaches in our Bible study program.

David Lusk

David Lusk came in June, 2007 to preach for the Union Valley church.

In 2008, he and Tony Pribble (along with a brother who is now deceased) were appointed to be elders.

He and his wife, Donna, are the parents of three Christian women; all married to Christian men, and raising Christian families.

David is also our pulpit preacher as well as weekly Bible teacher.

Tony Pribble

Tony Pribble helped found the Union Valley congregation in 1997. Recently, he and his wife stepped down from handling the cleaning/maintenance of the building. He says he has been a Christian for many years.

Three years ago, Tony was appointed to shepherd this family. He and David Graves (who has now gone to live with the Lord) served as the first among the elders.

Tony has been married to Pauline for over 50 years and they have three children.

Scriptures relating to the position of elder in the church:

1 Timothy 3:2-11 (NIV)
Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?) He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil's trap.

Something
to think about:

Just as we limit sweets in our children's diets, we also need to set healthy limits in other areas. We can do this by creating appropriate stages and boundaries.
